William Leuchtenburg
American historian and political scientist (born )
William Edward Leuchtenburg (LUCK-tuhn-berg; born September 28, ) is an American historian.
He is the William Rand Kenan Jr. Professor Emeritus of History at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill,[3] and a leading scholar of the life and career of Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
Career
Leuchtenburg was born in New York City[4] on September 28, On Ken Burns' documentary series Prohibition, he described, when he was a child, how his father was reported for operating an illegal distillery during the Prohibition Era.[5] He received his BA degree in from Cornell University, where he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
He later received his PhD from Columbia University in [6]
