Ogbonnaya Onovo is a former police officer who rose through the ranks and became the Inspector General of Police (IGP) before he was forced into retirement. In the course of his career which started in as cadet assistant superintendent of police, he had served as police commissioner in Rivers and Imo states, respectively.
